San Mirroring

Vicom SAN Mirroring provides flexible, "any-to-any" synchronous mirroring between multiple storage systems or SANs in heterogeneous and legacy environments. SAN Mirroring provides continuous data protection instantaneous failover, and automatic fall-back with centralized management for configurations including:

  • SAN-to-SAN replication. Data is mirrored between SANs locally or remotely for disaster recovery.
  • Mirroring between unlike systems. SAN Mirroring enables mirroring among enterprise, mid-range, or virtualized storage systems from different vendors.
  • Cross-tier mirroring. SAN Mirroring enables data replication from Tier 1 storage to an inexpensive Tier 3 array.

Fabric-Based Services

Like all Vicom appliance-based solutions, management is simple: all services are rendered as a fabric-based service, eliminating the need for host-based software, agents and drivers. Data is mirrored synchronously, ensuring continuous protection of data.

Simplified SAN Management

Moreover, because the mirroring services are provided transparently to all connected systems, failover can be performed instantaneously, without complex host-storage interactions and system latencies. Failover, mirror rebuild, and fail-back are managed as background processes, providing a unique and high level of system availability.
